On the twenty-ninth floor of the tallest skyscraper in China, FVA designed a new Spaces’ coworking space, an inspiring environment where ideas develop, businesses build, and relationships evolve.
The Spaces office designed by FVA in the Shanghai Tower, the world's second-tallest building by height to architectural top, is a creative place where you can work, check your emails and meet with your clients. With easy access to metro lines, it’s a place where you can pause to enjoy a really good cup of coffee or a healthy lunch, and where super-fast, secured internet ensures you can work quickly and efficiently. Take inspiration from the beautifully designed space or chat with our friendly staff. Kindle your entrepreneurial spirit with the enthusiasm of the other workers you will meet and network at the very first location of spaces.
The office occupies a circular space: the project was imagined as “a space breathes with nature” by using the dominating colours that are associated with the four seasons: green spring, red summer, yellow autumn, beige winter.
Shanghai is a multi-cultural metropolis with both modern and traditional Chinese features. With the idea of bringing the image of Shanghai into the project, the design of the space is a contemporary take on traditional Chinese architecture, creating a unique and authentic design experience.
FVA used pendant lights as the highlight element leading through all the area. Whatever the setting, these pendants are equally stunning when clustered in a group or as a single statement piece. The room was naturally divided without using free-standing walls to reduce the stifled feeling, creating an atmosphere of understated elegance and simplicity.
